We all know that Lebron did not play up to his or our expectations in the NBA finals this year, and we know that he dominated the Eastern Conference playoffs. We've all read the speculation about why his performance sagged in June, but if you don't mind, Lebron, I'm going to tell them the real reason. It's all my fault.
Around the start of the NBA playoffs in late April, I posted a couple of entries to this blog. Clearly, Lebron, you knew I had your back. Then June rolled around, and you were expecting more posts, but you didn't find them. You were unmoored, discombobulated, if you will, because you were spending half your time wondering what had happened to my blog, and the other half concentrating on how to close out games. If I may paraphrase George Costanza, "A Lebron divided against himself cannot stand."
What I should have told you is that I was blogging for patch.com during May and June. Now I can't turn back time, and I can't mess with fate so you could focus on the 2011 playoffs, but if you're looking for our conversation, and you can't find it here, look for me at newcanaan.patch.com. Here's what you missed:
